Chattogram Port Launches ‘Port Single Window’ Digital Platform
The Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has inaugurated a new digital platform, titled ‘Port Single Window’ (Port Single Window–CPA SKY), marking a significant step towards transforming the port into a fully integrated smart port with paperless operations.
The launch ceremony was held at the CPA boardroom, with the Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, joining virtually as chief guest. CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M A Moniruzzaman was present at the venue.
Addressing the event, Taiyeb said the introduction of the system was expected to enhance the port’s overall operational efficiency by three to five times. He stated that the platform would bring transformative changes to the national economy and strengthen the country’s position in international trade.
The Port Single Window (CPA SKY) enables users to access all services through a Single Sign-On system (AIS 2.0), allowing stakeholders to use a single login to complete multiple processes. The platform also incorporates real-time monitoring features, including a digital radar and an automated vessel tracking system, enabling live tracking of vessel movements.
Under the new system, importers and exporters will be able to secure approvals and complete customs and port clearance procedures through a unified digital interface, eliminating the need to visit multiple offices. The initiative is designed to enhance transparency and accountability at each stage of the process, while improving the overall ease of doing business.
On the day of the inauguration, the system dashboard indicated berth utilisation at 67%, with 14 of the port’s 21 berths operational. A total of 128 vessels were being tracked in real time through the platform.
The CPA said the initiative is expected to significantly reduce manual workload and accelerate the digital transformation of port operations, reinforcing Chattogram Port’s ambition to modernise its infrastructure and service delivery mechanisms.
