The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has officially denied media reports about handing over terminal operations to foreign entities, firmly asserting its sole ownership of all port facilities and assets.
This information was given in a special press release signed by the Secretary of the Chittagong Port Authority on Sunday. The release said that in recent times, it has been observed with great concern that some media outlets are presenting completely baseless, imaginary, untrue and misleading information regarding the operation of Chittagong Port terminals. These untrue, baseless and misleading information are creating confusion among the general public and port users.
Its said that if some media outlets do not fully know the real information about a matter and present news based on fabricated or conceptual or unreliable sources, it creates confusion in the public mind. Especially fabricated, unrealistic news related to Chittagong Port has a negative impact on the normal working environment of the port, which is a major obstacle to the development of Chittagong Port, the heart of Bangladesh's national economy, and Bangladesh. Everyone's cooperation is highly desirable to maintain a smooth working environment of the port and continue the progress of increasing development, including keeping the country's economic activities normal.
