Ship carrying 37,800 MT of fuel arrives at Colombo Port
A Hong Kong-registered vessel, Seafrontier, carrying a significant shipment of fuel ordered by Sri Lanka, has arrived at Colombo Port today(17). The vessel has begun unloading operations, the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation confirmed. Part of the cargo was offloaded at the Kerawalapitiya storage terminal this morning, while the remaining portion was transferred to the Kolonnawa terminal this afternoon after docking at the Dolphin Jetty
The shipment includes 17,000 metric tons of 92 Octane petrol, 18,000 metric tons of diesel, and 2,800 metric tons of super diesel. Authorities say this delivery will help address the ongoing fuel shortages caused by the energy crisis linked to the conflict in the Middle East.
