CONCOR marks major foray into sustainable cold chain logistics with landmark pharma shipment
Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR), India’s market leader in multimodal logistics, has taken a significant step forward in strengthening its cold chain logistics capabilities with the successful international movement of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical cargo.
In a landmark operation, CONCOR transported critical pharma products for Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited—India’s largest pharmaceutical company—from its manufacturing facility in Dewas to Singapore using CONCOR’s own specially designed 20-ft Hybrid Reefer container. The shipment moved entirely under CONCOR’s own Bill of Lading, reinforcing the company’s end-to-end service capability. The reefer container was loaded at the origin, sailed from Nhava Sheva Port on December 4, 2025, and was delivered safely to the consignee in Singapore on December 19, 2025.
CONCOR’s in-house reefer containers are certified for pharmaceutical applications and are equipped with advanced data loggers that continuously monitor and record temperature, humidity, and location throughout the journey. Designed as true multimodal assets, these containers are fully compatible for road, rail, and sea transportation.
A key differentiator of the Hybrid Reefer container is its ability to maintain the desired temperature for nearly 50 hours without the use of a diesel generator (DG) set. Additionally, the containers can be recharged en route for longer transits, offering both operational flexibility and environmental benefits. This innovative feature significantly reduces carbon emissions while delivering performance comparable to conventional ISO reefer containers.
This successful movement underscores CONCOR’s growing expertise in sustainable cold-chain logistics and highlights its ability to deliver seamless, reliable, and environmentally responsible solutions for high-value, temperature-sensitive cargo—anytime and anywhere across global supply chains.
