Bangladeshi vessel stranded at UAE port

A Bangladeshi cargo vessel has been stranded at a United Arab Emirates port amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following retaliatory strikes by Iran against attacks by Israel and the United States.The vessel, MV Banglar Joyjatra, is currently stationed at Jebel Ali Port. Due to the volatile security situation, unloading activities have been halted and the crew members have been moved to a safer location.The information was shared late Sunday night by Commodore Mahmudul Malek, Managing Director of the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
Sources said, the vessel arrived at Jebel Ali Port on February 27 with 38,800 tonnes of steel coils from Mesaieed Port. It has 31 sailors on board.Meanwhile, six other vessels owned by Bangladesh Shipping Corporation are currently stationed at various ports in the United States, Canada, Russia, Senegal, Liberia and Pakistan.
An online meeting has already been held with the ship's master, emphasising that the safety of the crew is our top priority.
